Café Fiorello is seeking an experienced Maitre D’ to join our team in Washington, DC. We are looking for a polished hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional first and lasting impressions for our guests.
What You’ll Do

• Serve as the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm, professional, and gracious welcome
• Manage reservations and seating flow using OpenTable (or similar systems), ensuring optimal table utilization
• Maintain an organized and efficient front door, balancing walk-ins, reservations, and waitlists
• Communicate effectively with management, servers, and kitchen to ensure seamless service execution
• Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and urgency
• Set the tone for service by maintaining a composed, confident, and guest-focused presence
• Train and support host team members to uphold service standards and consistency
What We’re Looking For

• 2–4 years of experience as a Maitre D’, Host Lead, or similar role in a high-volume, upscale or fine dining restaurant
• Strong knowledge of reservation systems (OpenTable preferred) and guest flow management
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, professional demeanor
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
