We’re Hiring: General Manager & Assistant General Manager (Bakery Operations)

📍 New York City
💰 Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits
$80,000 to $120,000 based on the role and level of experience. 


About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established, high-volume, and highly respected NYC bakery group to recruit both a General Manager and an Assistant General Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-unit, quality-driven concept known for its strong culture, loyal following, and commitment to excellence across both product and hospitality.

These roles are ideal for hospitality-driven leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about team development, operational excellence, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

The RolesGeneral Manager (GM)

The GM is the overall leader of the bakery, responsible for full operational performance, team leadership, and financial results. This role oversees a team of 40+ and sets the tone for culture, hospitality, and execution.

Assistant General Manager (AGM)

The AGM partners closely with the GM to execute daily operations, lead shifts, and support team development. This is a highly hands-on role with strong growth potential into a GM position.

Key Responsibilities (Across Both Roles)Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop large teams across front and back of house
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Build strong internal leadership pipelines
Operations & Execution
  • Oversee daily operations in a high-volume bakery environment
  • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence across all shifts
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, leading by example
Hospitality & Guest Experience
  • Champion a culture of genuine, elevated hospitality
  • Ensure every guest interaction reflects brand values
  • Manage service recovery with professionalism and care
Financial & Administrative Oversight
  • Support or own (GM) P&L performance, including labor, sales, and cost control
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll coordination, and reporting
  • Monitor sales trends and contribute to forecasting and planning
Product, Quality & Inventory
  • Ensure product quality, presentation, and availability at all times
  • Partner with production teams to optimize product flow and minimize waste
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain full compliance with NYC DOH regulations
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment
  • Uphold all company SOPs and safety standards
Community & Brand Presence
  • Build strong relationships within the local community
  • Drive guest loyalty and repeat business through engagement initiatives
What We’re Looking ForGeneral Manager
  • 5+ years of management experience in hospitality or food & beverage
  • Proven ability to lead large, high-performing teams (40+)
  • Strong understanding of P&L, labor management, and operations
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style
Assistant General Manager
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Strong leadership potential and desire to grow into a GM role
  • Highly organized, hands-on, and team-oriented
For Both Roles
  • Passion for hospitality and guest experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset
  • Availability for weekends and holidays
  • DOH certification required
