TAKODA Navy Yard is hiring a host. TAKODA brings a vibrant and easygoing drinking, dining, and entertainment experience to the Navy Yard neighborhood. Description/Responsibilities

• Greeting guests as they walk into the restaurant and assessing their dining needs
• Attend to guests upon arrival with reservations and guiding them to their table
• Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
• Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff
• Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
• Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and consistency

• Strong customer service skills in order to aid our guests in any matter needed
• Have strong communication skills in order to communicate with coworkers
• Preferred not required: previous experience with Toast ordering system.

• Constant standing/walking for long periods of time

Experience

• Preferred not required: 1 year restaurant experience
