Job Details

Michelin Green Star and award winning farm to table restaurant Blackbelly from Top Chef winner Hosea Rosenberg is currently seeking dedicated and driven line cooks to join our PM Dinner service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability, technique driven cuisine, and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in executing the highest quality plates for our guests while maintaining the standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling techniques
  • Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols

Experience

  • 1-2 years experience in a fine dining or upscale-casual restaurants or chef driven kitchen preferred
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques, equipment, and food handling procedures
  • Familiarity with farm to table ethos and butchery preferred
  • Willingness to learn and except criticism
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and meal preparation for diverse clientele is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen

Compensation

  • $20-$26/hour
