Chef needed for an Italian Food Kiosk at Pier 57. The chef is responsible for preparing high-quality, authentic Italian dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role combines culinary preparation with the efficiency of quick-service, often requiring staff to handle both cooking and customer service tasks. The chef oversees daily culinary operations, balancing hands-on cooking with administrative management to ensure high-quality food service. They are responsible for menu planning, inventory management, food safety compliance, staff training, and controlling kitchen costs. This role requires leadership, culinary expertise, and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary & Operations: Develop menus, create recipes, and ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
- Team Management: Hire, train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff, fostering a productive work environment.
- Financial Control: Manage food costs, optimize inventory, and handle purchasing/ordering from suppliers.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Customer Service: Handle customer feedback and coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service.
