General Manager – The Mette

The Mette is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead operations at Wilmette’s premier cocktail destination that will be opening later this Spring. The Mette will have elevated cocktails, a refined food program, and warm yet sophisticated atmosphere, The Mette is dedicated to delivering an unforgettable guest experience rooted in hospitality, quality, and attention to detail.
We are looking for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a high-energy environment and is committed to leading a team that embodies excellence in service, product knowledge, and guest engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of The Mette, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the front-of-house team while fostering a positive and professional culture.
- Maintain the highest standards of hospitality, service, and presentation.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and labor efficiency.
- Partner with ownership to develop and implement operational strategies that drive revenue and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee beverage and food program execution while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor regulations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, preferably in an upscale bar, restaurant, or cocktail program.
- Strong knowledge of craft cocktails, spirits, wine, and elevated service standards.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($75,000.00 - $85,000.00)
