For the past 20 years, we’ve proudly served as Manhattan’s premier sushi destination, located on midtown. Our restaurant offers modern, unique and mouth-watering interpretations of Japanese cuisine with an inviting atmosphere. We are a guest‑focused establishment dedicated to exceptional service and culinary innovation. We are now seeking talented, passionate, and creative chefs to join our team

Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum New York City restaurant experience as a Sushi Chef.
  • Perform expert‑level butchering of multiple fish and shellfish, including premium and seasonal ingredients.
  • Maintaining product quality & developing creative and tasteful presentations.
  • Uphold authentic Japanese techniques, including advanced knife work and traditional preparation methods.
  • Able to maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining all sushi bar station work areas , keeps station health code compliant and organized at all times.
  • This individual must be able to consistently deliver under pressure.
  • Develop, refine, and execute high‑end menu items
  • Communicating with staff to ensure special requests and allergy considerations
  • Educating Staff on Japanese ingredients ,products & cuisine.
  • Uphold a culture of respect, discipline, and professional growth.
  • Scheduling 20 to 30 employees
  • Maintain food cost and control waste
  • Ordering and overseeing daily invoices
  • Monthly Inventory
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must have open availability

Koi Restaurant and Lounge in New York is located in the modern and luxurious Bryant Park Hotel. Koi New York opened its doors in 2005 and brought its stylish yet laid back West Cost vibe to New York. Its chic and sexy surroundings, inventive cocktails and beloved signature dishes set the scene for a fun and sophisticated dining experience.

Upon arrival, guests are ushered into the restaurant through ornate steel double doors that open into a multi-level 177 person seating. Distinct dining areas offer guests the opportunity to tailor their own dining experience. The lush garden landscape within the restaurant alludes to both its proximity to Bryant Park, as well as the garden setting of its Los Angeles sister location.

Koi New York is known for its upscale Japanese fare that offers unique and mouth-watering interpretations of Japanese cuisine. Fans of Koi’s signature dishes in Koi Los Angeles will be excited to find their favorites offered in New York as well.
