The Host is responsible for greeting guests and relaying information to the front of house team. All allergies and dietary restrictions must be noted. As the first team member to interact with guests, the host must keep a warm and welcoming demeanor while managing reservations and reaching out to guests.
Daily expectations include but not limited to:
- Reaching out guests for clarifications on allergies
- Updating guest notes for any allergies, seating, guest experience, etc.
- Greet customers, and maintain a friendly demeanor throughout their experiences
- Periodically checking restrooms to maintain cleanliness
- Follow all NYC Department of Health (DOH) regulations related to hygiene and guest-facing cleanliness.
- Communicate wait times, delays, or special seating arrangements with transparency.
- Uphold dress code, grooming, and uniform standards
- Comply with all OSHA workplace safety standards.
- Complete relevant checklists and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
