As a Floor Manager (FM) at the Parlour Room you will be a seasoned, motivated, and dynamic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and aims to elevate our patrons experience without losing integrity of product. Organized, with a passion for mentorship, the right candidate must have a natural ability to lead Service Managers through warm, detail-oriented hospitality.

Finance:

  • Ensure proper team member coverage per the needs of business for each FOH department while maintaining target labor costs
  • Oversee cash management functions; Maintain proper loss prevention standards, including reviewing cash handling procedures, deposits and safe procedures

 

Operations:

  • Participates in General Manager Meeting, weekly
  • Attends and when required, leads pre shift in an educational inspirational manner
  • Perform all POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, comps, voids and transfers, back of house administration (employee creation, menu management, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, organized dining room following company standards
  • Plan, execute and communicate all new products and information effectively and efficiently
  • Promote and practice safe work habits, identify and resolve potential safety hazards; Document accidents, conduct initial investigation and determination of root cause of safety incidents in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment
  • Maintain Department of Health rating; Implement best practices to ensure DOH standards are met
  • Ensure that all team members are educated on company products and services, as needed

 

Staff Management:

  • Facilitate ongoing training and development of staff. A role model for outstanding service; continuously work to elevate service standards through training workshops and monitoring employee performance
  • Consistently monitor, coach and encourage team members to exceed Company service standards
  • Ensure proper team member coverage per the needs of business while maintaining target labor costs
  • Prepare reports to track performance of employees to enhance efficient evaluation
  • Drive team to achieve targets for online scores; Use guest feedback as teaching tool for staff
  • Productively address team members who do not follow Company standards, ethics or culture
  • Resolve team member or customer conflicts through Company compliant handling procedure
  • Build team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members are encouraged and valued

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($65,000.00 - $85,000.00)

The Parlour Room Bar and Grill is a classic American restaurant nestled in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. We take pleasure in hosting our guests in a truly warm, beautiful, and thoughtfully appointed dining room and bar, where no request is too big or small.

Our new menu, created by our Executive Chef Stephen Woods, features craveable, delicious dishes. Woods, an alumnus of the acclaimed kitchens of The Waverly Inn, Smith & Wollensky and Patina Restaurant Group is focused on taking classic dishes and adding fun, contemporary twists. The Island Creek Oysters are dressed in Ronnybrook Farm buttermilk that Dowdy elevates with chive oil and trout roe. Our Clams Casino Bucatini is a take on the classic Rhode Island dish of baked clams, but we put our twist on the preparation with Baker's bacon, fermented chili and manilla clams. Our Chicken Kiev offers a mdern twist on a classic dish, with origins traced back to 1847 in Marie-Antoine Carême's cookbook. We stuff an airline chicken breast with garlic herb butter, coat it in breadcrumbs, and deep fry it. It's paired with chicken leg confit in schmaltz, served alongside pommes purée, glazed green peas, and thyme-scented chicken jus. And lastly, our iconic Parlour Burger is a blend of brisket and short rib, cheddar, shaved onions, pickles, and our special P-36 Sauce.

Another point of pride is our collection of 450 of the world’s finest whiskeys, a treasure trove for whiskey enthusiasts, with selections from Ireland, Scotland, Japan, the United States, Canada and beyond. In addition to our extensive whiskey collection, our full beverage program is a homage to literary legends like Edgar Allan Poe, J.D. Salinger, Oscar Wilde, F. Scott Fitzgerald to name a few. At The Parlour Room, each cocktail is influenced by these literary titans and directly tied into their history and work. Our signature American Whiskey cocktail "The Raven" is a spirit forward theatrical drink inspired by Allan Poe's masterpiece and an homage to the poet, who was a lover of whiskey.
