About the Company

A growing and highly respected New York City restaurant group known for its bold cuisine, warm hospitality, and strong neighborhood presence is entering an exciting phase of expansion.

With multiple thriving locations and several new openings planned in Brooklyn, the company is expanding its bakery and pastry program to support continued growth and innovation.

To lead this next chapter, the group is seeking a Head of Bakery & Pastry Program — a newly created leadership role responsible for elevating and expanding the bakery operations across the organization.

This position will be primarily based in Bushwick, home to the group’s largest bakery production space, and will play a central role in shaping production systems, quality standards, and new product development as the brand continues to grow.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, creative, and high-impact leadership role ideal for a technically strong baker who loves working with dough fermentation, pastry craftsmanship, and thoughtful flavor development.

You will oversee and develop the entire bakery and pastry program, from concept to execution, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation across breads, pastries, and baked goods served throughout the group.

Key Responsibilities🥖 Lead the Bakery & Pastry Program
  • Design, develop, and evolve bakery and pastry offerings across the group

  • Oversee daily production of breads, pastries, and baked goods

  • Establish and maintain quality standards and production systems

  • Ensure consistency and excellence across locations

🍞 Production & Operations
  • Lead production at the Bushwick commissary bakery

  • Manage prep schedules, baking production, and fermentation processes

  • Build efficient workflows to support restaurant service, catering, and retail needs

  • Maintain product quality and consistency at scale

🎨 Product Development
  • Create new recipes and seasonal offerings inspired by the restaurant group’s culinary identity

  • Experiment with fermentation techniques, dough development, and flavor pairings

  • Collaborate with leadership on R&D and menu innovation

👥 Team Leadership
  • Train, mentor, and develop bakery staff

  • Build strong systems and processes that support team success

  • Foster a culture of craftsmanship, curiosity, and excellence

🤝 Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team

  • Support culinary initiatives, special projects, and new openings

  • Contribute ideas that enhance the brand’s culinary identity and guest experience

Ideal Candidate

You are a passionate and technically strong baker who thrives in a creative yet structured environment.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of professional baking or pastry experience

  • Experience leading or managing a bakery or pastry program

  • Strong knowledge of dough fermentation, bread baking, and pastry techniques

  • Experience developing recipes and scaling production

  • Ability to balance creativity with operational discipline

  • Leadership experience training and managing teams

  • A genuine passion for craftsmanship and flavor

Experience with Mediterranean, Eastern European, or globally inspired culinary traditions is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary: $90K–$110K
🏥 50% Healthcare Coverage after 90 days
💰 401K Match
