Hole In The Wall is an Australian inspired cafe and bar that offers a fresh and seasonally charged menu from brunch to dinner, seven days a week. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our BOH team and execute on our menu which is centered around high quality, fresh ingredients.
The Head Chef will work side-by-side with the Hole in the Wall General Manager and lead the daily operations of the kitchen. This Chef will be accountable for executing the financial goals of the business and managing the back of house team. They will be expected to work closely with the entire management team to ensure the entire operation is being executed at the high standards expected.
The Head Chef plans and coordinates the operations of their team by working closely with the Director of Culinary Operations, Clint Snowling - together they ensure that the operational areas of their business are aligned with the mission of Isla & Daintree along with the core values of PHG.
We are looking for strong leaders who have the ability to work calmly under pressure, communicate clearly and precisely, quick to action and an ability to teach and develop staff working for them.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
- Work in the kitchen alongside the team to ensure the menu is being executed at a high level, tickets are being completed in a timely manner and recipes/plating standards are being followed
- Knowledge of the Kitchen area, food products and how to use culinary utensils.
- Able to communicate clear directions of how to prepare and use these items.
- Train team members in an effort to always improve culinary and kitchen safety skills.
- Plan and collaborate with management on menu creation.
- Schedule the team giving two weeks notice to ensure proper staffing levels
- Purchase and manage inventory and food budget.
- Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors in the kitchen area. Temperature is moderated to hot and controlled by facility environmental systems.
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.
- Able to lift and move up to 25lbs. on an intermittent basis.
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Manual dexterity required to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Talking, hearing and seeing (vision) occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, Supervisors and other Employees.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual Salary $75,000 + KPI based bonus ($12,500)
