Job Details

Schneider Deli is opening our second location in Lincoln Park, and we are looking for committed, enthusiastic hospitality professionals to build our opening team around. The ideal candidate is dedicated, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. To open, we are prioritizing applicants with full-time availability who want to learn and grow with us for the long haul! This lead line cook position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time Kitchen Manager role for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as keyholder, opening the kitchen and ensuring the prep team arrives on time
  • Write daily prep lists based on projected order volume, inventory, and catering needs
  • Lead catering planning, prep, and fulfillment while on-site
  • Train and mentor fellow line cooks
  • Prepare and cook menu items accurately and efficiently to Schneider standards
  • Execute service with speed, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station throughout service
  • Follow all recipes, portioning, and plating standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line and prep areas
  • Communicate clearly with teammates and front-of-house staff
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Assist with prep, opening, and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred
  • Supervisor, keyholder, or manager experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Shifts vary based on business needs
