Momoya SoHo is actively seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Host / Hostess to join our front-of-house team in SoHo, NYC.

Position Summary
As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host / Hostess plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression. This position is responsible for managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and supporting smooth front-of-house operations while delivering excellent customer service throughout each guest’s visit.
Role Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests warmly; ensure a smooth and efficient seating flow
- Make guests feel comfortable while waiting and assist with any immediate needs
- Manage reservations and waitlists using the reservation system
- Answer phone calls and provide basic information regarding reservations, hours, and services
- Assist guests as they depart to ensure a positive overall dining experience
- Maintain familiarity with menus and restaurant offerings
- Complete pre-service and closing duties, including menu printing and shift notes
- Uphold service standards and Momoya SoHo’s values
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary host stand and entry area
- Support the team with additional tasks as assigned by management
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- At least 1 year of experience as a Host / Hostess, preferably in an upscale or high-volume restaurant
- Experience with POS and reservation systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and polished appearance
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, excellent phone etiquette, and strong guest-service mindset
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- MUST be available to work on weekends, Friday-Sunday
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to move throughout the restaurant during service
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally
Compensation
- $17.50 per hour + tips
- Pay is based on experience, availability, and overall qualifications
