Job Details

KINJO is seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. Our concept blends the energy of a traditional Japanese izakaya with modern culinary precision, serving a menu of grilled dishes, small plates, and seasonal specialties designed for sharing. Izakaya typically feature a wide variety of dishes—from grilled skewers and sashimi to fried small plates—served in a lively dining environment.

This position is ideal for cooks who thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen and want to deepen their experience in Japanese cuisine.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to KINJO recipes and chef standards.

  • Execute dishes quickly and consistently during high-volume dinner service.

  • Maintain proper station setup, organization, and cleanliness throughout service.

  • Complete daily prep tasks including cutting, portioning, marinating, and sauce preparation.

  • Maintain proper food storage and rotation using FIFO procedures.

  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and temperature meet restaurant standards.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and DOH regulations.

  • Communicate clearly with chefs and kitchen team during service.

  • Assist with inventory organization, station restocking, and end-of-shift cleaning.

(Line cooks typically prepare ingredients, cook dishes according to recipes, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen to ensure consistent quality. )

Qualifications
  • 1–3+ years of experience as a line cook in a restaurant kitchen

  • Experience with Japanese cuisine or Asian cooking preferred

  • Strong knife skills and understanding of kitchen fundamentals

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Professional attitude and willingness to learn

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
