Sailor is a lauded neighborhood bistro on a corner in Fort Greene, helmed by Chef April Bloomfield and Gabriel Stulman’s Happy Cooking Hospitality.
We enjoy working with people who are warm, welcoming, and empathetic—individuals who are detail-oriented, open to feedback, and excited to be part of a team that prioritizes thoughtful hospitality and genuine care for guests.
At Sailor, Sommeliers are leaders on the floor and integral members of the dining room team. This role blends classic captain service with a deep engagement in our wine program. Sommeliers guide guests through the wine list with curiosity and generosity, helping create memorable dining experiences through attentive listening, thoughtful recommendations, and seamless collaboration with the entire team.
Wine is part of the daily conversation at Sailor. Our list reflects producers we admire and regions we love to explore, and we invest in ongoing wine education for the team. The ideal candidate is passionate about wine but equally excited to roll up their sleeves, support their colleagues, and contribute to the rhythm of a small, busy dining room.
We are looking for hospitality professionals with fine dining experience who thrive in an intimate restaurant environment and value teamwork as much as technical knowledge.
If you’ve dined at Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey’s Grocery, or Fairfax, then you’ve already been in our house. To learn more about us, please visit www.happycookingnyc.com.
