Joe Allen Restaurant has been operating since 1965 and is a Restaurant Row staple. We serve many loyal regulars as well as a healthy Broadway crowd. Guests love our warm atmosphere, scrumptious food, and classy bar service.
We are currently hiring for a full time server, 5 shifts. Our service is elevated from the typical high volume restaurant, but high volume experience tends to transfer well to our style. However, anyone with serving experience who is willing to adapt and accept feedback is welcome.
A few key points in plain English:
Compensation listed is tips, plus hourly. It reflects a full schedule. The busiest few weeks are generally higher and some of the slowest weeks may be slightly lower. The amount and flow of busy weeks really follows the theater seasons.
Shifts can be 8-9 hours, but they include a pre-shift meal as well as a fed break in the middle, as well as two shift drinks at the end.
We do not employ bussers or porters, so the job does require running glass racks, carrying bus tubs, and bussing your own tables.
The house is pooled, so team work is a requirement.
We are a pre-theater restaurant, so speed is a top priority.
The training is five shifts, all paid, and if you pass, you will be put on the schedule and allowed to pick up shifts immediately.
