Position Summary
The General Manager oversees all day-to-day operations of Apt 5. This role focuses on supporting the team and enforcing processes to ensure service runs smoothly.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-driven, and floor-present — balancing administrative oversight with hands-on leadership during service.
Core ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations:
- Oversees nightly service execution across all rooms.
- Point person during guest questions and/or frictions
- Maintain guest experience standards consistent with Apt 5’s brand
- Liaison for in-bound event inquiries & answer any questions a guest might have.
Staff Oversight:
- Build and manage weekly FOH schedules.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training.
- Support performance management and coaching
Inventory:
- Oversee beverage and smallwares inventory, identifying inefficiencies and waste
- Monitor ordering, par levels, and vendor relationships
Compliance & Facilities
- Ensure DOH compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across all spaces
- Oversee maintenance needs and vendor coordination
- Ensure POS accuracy and cash-handling compliance
- Systems & Administration
- Maintain operational SOPs and service manuals
- Track weekly sales reports and labor reports
- Oversee reservation platform accuracy and room assignments
- Assist in private event execution logistics
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of hospitality management experience
- Experience in upscale bar or event venue preferred
- Organized & detail oriented
- Able to handle a difficult guest with kindness and hospitality
- Strong understanding of beverage operations and/or previous bartending experience is a plus
Experience with Square POS and Resy is a plus
- NYC DOH Food Protection Certification preferred
