Grocery Floor Supervisor Role
Department: Store Operations
Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager
Position Summary
The Floor Supervisor oversees daily store floor operations to ensure excellent customer service, efficient merchandising, and smooth team execution. This role acts as the on-duty leader, coordinating staff, maintaining standards, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring the store is customer-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Floor Leadership
Lead and supervise floor staff during assigned shifts
Ensure shelves are stocked, faced, signed, and compliant with merchandising standards
Monitor store conditions (cleanliness, safety, organization) and address issues immediately
Execute daily priorities such as promotions, resets, and seasonal displays
Customer Experience
Serve as the main point of contact for customer concerns and escalations
Resolve complaints professionally and in alignment with company policies
Support front-end flow, including registers and peak-time coverage
Team Supervision & Support
Assign tasks and adjust staffing based on traffic and business needs
Coach employees on service standards, productivity, and safety
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and attendance standards
Inventory & Merchandising
Support inventory accuracy through proper rotation, dating, and shrink awareness
Communicate out-of-stocks, quality issues, and replenishment needs
Ensure promotional items and price integrity are accurate on the floor
Ensure dated or damaged products are properly removed and documented according to company policy
Safety & Compliance
Enforce food safety, workplace safety, and loss-prevention standards
Conduct safety walks and respond to incidents appropriately
Ensure compliance with local health and labor regulations
Communication & Reporting
Communicate store performance, issues, and wins to store leadership
Complete shift reports and document incidents as required
Qualifications
1–3 years of retail, grocery, or hospitality leadership experience preferred
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer and POS system proficiency
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods
Schedule Requirements
Weekend availability is required for this position. The schedule will typically include weekend shifts, with two consecutive days off scheduled during the weekday.
Flexible availability is expected, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
