Sommelier

Castell’s is seeking a highly qualified Sommelier to lead our wine program on the floor while also functioning as our cocktail specialist and primary beverage seller during service. This role carries direct responsibility for increasing alcohol sales and elevating the guest experience through confident, informed, and active selling.

This is not a passive sommelier role. Ownership and performance are expected.

Responsibilities

• Learn, internalize, and confidently represent Castell’s wine program
• Fully memorize the food menu and execute thoughtful wine and cocktail pairings
• Actively sell wine and cocktails throughout service
• Serve as the cocktail specialist, ensuring consistency and quality at the bar and tables
• Train and support servers in beverage knowledge and sales technique
• Drive increased beverage spend per cover
• Maintain accountability for beverage performance on assigned shifts

Requirements

• WSET Level 2 or higher or CMS Certified Sommelier Exam (CSE) or above
• Strong practical wine knowledge with real service-floor application
• Solid cocktail knowledge and hands-on service ability
• Proven sales ability and comfort being held accountable to results
• Strong floor presence and guest-facing communication skills
• Ability to quickly learn and retain detailed menus
