Inga's Bar is searching for an experienced and multi-talented Host. We are a small, very busy Brooklyn Heights restaurant with a focus on simple, thoughtfully executed seasonal food. We strive for professionalism and attention to detail within a framework of authentic, straightforward hospitality. We are looking for a FOH pro with at least 5 years NYC experience in fast-paced environments. We are a very busy restaurant, so focus, passion and teamwork are essential.

We're looking for someone who is able to guide all aspects of service and see the big picture view of the floor. We are looking for someone that is capable of fully utilizing Resy to set us up for busy, well paced services.

Good communication skills are key to this position. Positivity in coworker and guest interactions is essential to our style of hospitality.

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

Fielding reservation inquiries through Resy and Instagram DM's
Confidently and capably plotting the layout of each night's reservations in Resy
Collaborating with the service team to ensure smooth and on time turns throughout the shift
Helping to create a welcoming and genuinely positive atmosphere for our guests

In addition to these specific skills, all FOH team members are expected to help maintain cleanliness of the host stand, tables, and the dining room in general. All FOH team members get an equal point in the tip pool so balanced effort from all members of the team is expected. All employees are expected to show up on time and ready to work for their scheduled shifts and adhere to our shift coverage / call out requirements in the event they are unable to work a shift.


What You Bring

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as host / maitre d' / lead server in a fast paced restaurant
A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality
Fluency in Resy and social media platforms, knowledge of HelpScout a plus
Flexible work schedule: the ability to work nights, weekend brunches, and holidays
The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time

Compensation: Hourly rate dependent on experience plus tips, or potential salary basis for the right candidate
