Line Cook - Grill ($20-$23/hr)

With three distinct outlets, our establishment offers unparalleled service and an elegant atmosphere. Nikai, a private Japanese restaurant, and the Palm Room, a speakeasy-style lounge, are exclusive to our esteemed members, while our upscale Mediterranean trattoria, A'riva, welcomes all guests to enjoy its exceptional offerings. 

We are seeking talented and dedicated and enthusiastic professionals to join our team and contribute to the success of this exciting venture. 

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards, ensuring the highest quality and consistency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant’s standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Station Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station, ensuring all prep and mise en place are ready for service
  • Quality Control: Monitor and ensure food quality and consistency, checking for taste, appearance, and portion size
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory checks, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Efficiency: Manage time effectively during high-pressure service periods, ensuring efficient and timely food delivery 
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques, participating in training and development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent knife skills and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Basic understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain a clean work area/station
  • Experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants is a plus
  • Ability to work a minimum of 4 shifts per week
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as neede
  • Ability to: stand, walk, lift/carry heavy items, and tolerate high temperatures for extended periods
