Position Summary

The Busser is responsible for participating in guest service by clearing and cleaning tables, resetting them for new guests, and assisting the front-of-house team with service by keeping dining areas clean.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Table maintenance: Clear dirty dishes, wipe down tables, chairs, and booths, and reset tables with clean linens, silverware, and other settings.
  • Restocking: Keep service stations stocked with necessary items like napkins, glassware, silverware, and condiments.
  • General cleaning: Sweep and mop floors, clean up spills promptly, and help maintain the overall cleanliness of the dining area and restrooms.
  • Support staff: Assist servers with tasks like pre-bussing, refilling water glasses, and delivering food or drinks when needed.
  • Guest assistance: Respond to basic customer questions and needs and communicate more complex requests to servers or management.
  • Opening and closing: Help with opening preparations, such as setting tables, and closing duties, like cleaning chairs and tables and taking out trash.
  • Any task as assigned by management.

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 1+ year related experience in a similar position within an upscale dining setting.
  • Basic verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and welcoming feedback.
  • Professional demeanor, polished appearance, attention to detail with the ability to exceed guest's expectations.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • May be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. 
  • Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 
  • Climbing steps regularly.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.

 

Compensation

  • The base pay range for this position is $17.00 per hour plus tips. This position takes the tip credit.
  • The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.

The dining collection, co-curated by Chef Thomas Keller, features some of the most iconic names in the culinary world. It’s therefore no surprise estiatorio Milos has been tapped as one of two Flagship Fine dining restaurants.
The bi-level space is home to Milos Hudson Yards, featuring an open kitchen, private dining rooms, walls of glass overlooking the Hudson River, and a spectacular outdoor terrace.Unique design elements include glass-enclosed seafood coolers, putting yourcatch on display, and an expansive international wine collection visible behind the bar.

Assyrtiko Wine Bar is a new expression of the Milos brand. Residing on its own level within the restaurant, we feature Greek wines by the glass and bottle, signature and unique small format cuisine, and a full spirits program. During the day, a Greek yogurt bar, made to order food, proprietary coffee, and pastries are available for dine-in or to-go. Signature packaged ingredients such as olive oil, honey and sea salts are available for those who wish to experience Milos quality any time, anywhere.
