Job Details

We are seeking a hospitality-minded Service Manager to lead front-of-house operations and a strong private events program at a fine dining Italian restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership role for a polished professional who understands high-level service, leads by example, and supports both guests and staff on the floor. Experience with BEOs, event sales and support. Italian cuisine and wine knowledge are a plus, but not required—training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily service with a strong, visible floor presence
  • Ensure consistent execution of fine dining service standards
  • Prioritize tasks to support an exceptional guest experience
  • Mentor and guide front-of-house staff
  • Step into any FOH role as needed (service, bar, host stand)
  • Support scheduling, inventory (supplies, liquor, wine), and labor management
  • Read and understand a P&L
  • Take on additional responsibilities (e.g., bar operations) based on expertise

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of management experience in a comparable restaurant
  • Strong understanding of service fundamentals
  • Experience in booking, planning and executing events
  • General wine knowledge required; Italian wine experience a plus
  • Professional, punctual, and well-groomed
  • Calm, organized, and guest-focused under pressure
  • Ability to stand, walk, or move for 90%+ of a shift.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and carry objects
  • Ability to work for 3-4 hours or more without a rest break.
  • Ability to move around to interact with customers and staff

Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000-90,000 + Events Commissions
  • Schedule: 5 days/week, 9–10 hours per day; Days Off: Sunday & Monday
  • Health & dental insurance fully paid (eligible after 90 days)
  • Paid vacation: 1 week after year one, 2 weeks after year two, 3 weeks after year five
  • Bonus program under consideration, tied to restaurant profitability
