Job Overview
We are excited to announce the opening of a new Japanese Fine Dining restaurant and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maître D. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a prestigious culinary establishment, bringing upscale Japanese cuisine to our community. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maître D to join our leadership team and help shape the culture and operations of our restaurant from day one.
The Maître D is the face of the restaurant for guests, responsible for orchestrating the front-of-house operations, managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and supporting FOH staff. This leadership role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee guest relations, ensuring every guest has a seamless and memorable experience
· Manage reservations, table assignments, and seating flow for lunch and dinner
· Supervise and support hosts, servers, and support staff to maintain top-tier service
· Train, mentor, and coach FOH staff, instilling values of teamwork, mindfulness, respect, and positivity
· Collaborate with GM and Managers to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflows
· Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns professionally and promptly
· Build long lasting relationships with guests
· Maintain knowledge of the menu, wine pairings, and daily specials to assist guests
· Uphold all health, safety, and operational standards
Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience as a Maitre D’ or FOH leadership role in fine dining
· Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
· Ability to manage high-volume, high-end service periods with poise
· Proven track record of mentoring staff and maintaining a positive team culture
· Familiarity with reservation systems, POS platforms, and FOH operations
Preferred:
· Experience in Japanese fine dining or other upscale international cuisine
· Experience in a new restaurant opening
What We Offer:
· Competitive salary: $60,000-80,000/year + Tips

Compensation Details
