About The Butcher's Daughter:
The Butcher’s Daughter is a busy, fast-paced, and vibrant vegetarian restaurant with three locations in the New York City area and two locations in Los Angeles. We are home to locals and a destination for travelers, and we are expanding our locations!
HOST/BARISTA: This is a hybrid role that offers mixed shifts between Host & Barista.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Host:
- Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups.
- Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations.
- Takes names on a waiting list.
- Runs the floor plan board.
- Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
- Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
- Cleans, organizes, and stocks menus at the host / market area.
- Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
- Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Barista:
- 1+ years of experience as a barista
- Coffee-making, latte art, and tea-making experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in a high volume
- Barista experience is required (minimum 1 year)
- Previous customer service experience strongly preferred
- Detail-oriented, neat, self-motivated, and a team player.
- Ability to support the floor staff in setting tables and supporting service.
- Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.
- Flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays).
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
- Proficient or ability to learn computer skills including POS systems, OpenTable, Word and Excel.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude
