Position Overview
The Beverage Director at The Twenty Two New York provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all beverage programming across the property. This executive-level role is responsible for driving financial performance, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring a cohesive and elevated guest experience across all beverage outlets and service environments.
Working in close partnership with Ownership, Hotel Management, and senior department leaders, the Beverage Director ensures consistent brand execution, service integrity, and alignment with the property’s long-term vision. This role is instrumental in cultivating a high-performing leadership team, shaping the hospitality culture, and sustaining the property's reputation for beverage excellence.
The Beverage Director is accountable for revenue growth, cost management, operational infrastructure, and the development of innovative beverage programming that supports both guest satisfaction and long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership

Design, implement, and oversee all beverage menus in collaboration with bar leadership, ensuring accurate documentation of specifications, ingredients, and cost structures.

Establish and maintain operational standards and SOPs across all outlets in partnership with General Managers and department heads.

Collaborate with hotel leadership to implement property-wide initiatives, including private events, membership programming, and in-room dining beverage service.

Provide hands-on operational support as needed to ensure seamless service and an exceptional guest experience.

Attend and contribute to required leadership, operational, and staff meetings.
Financial Oversight & Performance Management

Oversee the financial performance of all beverage operations, including budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, inventory control, cost analysis, and sales reporting.

Develop and manage daily, weekly, monthly, and annual budgets.

Review and approve weekly payroll, ensuring labor targets and operational efficiencies are achieved.

Prepare and present regular financial and operational reports to Ownership.

Train and empower management teams to understand financial tools, accountability metrics, and performance goals.
Team Development & Culture

Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing beverage leadership team.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Inspire and retain talent through clear communication, coaching, and professional development.

Serve as a subject-matter expert during company meetings and trainings.
Guest Experience & Brand Stewardship

Develop guest retention strategies and programming that strengthen brand loyalty and long-term growth.

Maintain deep knowledge of all beverage menus, ingredients, preparation methods, and service standards.

Pursue ongoing beverage education to ensure innovation and competitive positioning.
Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with all Department of Health regulations, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service requirements.

Maintain and strengthen vendor partnerships, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.

Promote and enforce safe work practices; ensure all incidents are properly documented and addressed.
Qualifications
-
3–5 years of experience as a Beverage Director or in a comparable senior leadership role within a high-caliber hospitality environment.

Strong working knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, beverage cost control, and service standards.

Fluency in spoken and written English.

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field preferred.

TIPS or responsible alcohol service certification required.

Proficiency in hospitality technology platforms including POS, payroll systems, scheduling software, inventory systems, and standard office applications.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
