Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented General Manager to lead and oversee operations for our café. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high quality standards, managing staff, and upholding all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for delivering a consistently high-quality experience in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring all food and drinks are prepared and presented according to established standards and recipes. Maintain efficient workflows and strong communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Staff Leadership & Development: Hire, train, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain a productive, professional, and positive work environment. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
Quality & Consistency: Maintain strict quality control over food and drink preparation, portioning, presentation, and taste. Regularly monitor items to ensure consistency and adherence to café standards.
Inventory & Ordering: Manage inventory, including ordering food, supplies, and equipment. Monitor product usage, minimize waste, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Cost Control & Budget Management: Monitor food cost percentages, labor usage, and overall expenses. Work with management to implement strategies that improve efficiency and profitability.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all local health, sanitation, and food safety regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. Conduct routine inspections and enforce proper food handling procedures.
Menu Execution & Support: Assist with menu development, recipe standardization, and seasonal menu changes. Provide feedback on product quality, pricing, and kitchen efficiency.
Scheduling & Labor Management: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage while maintaining labor cost targets and productivity goals.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.
Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution: Address issues quickly and effectively, maintaining a calm and professional approach while supporting team cohesion.
Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in a leadership role in a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment.
