Sempre Oggi is hiring talented hospitality professionals for our upscale UWS restaurant. Servers are responsible for maintaining the highest level of education in the dining room, including wine and food menu knowledge.
Servers approach their work with an unmatched sense of urgency, patience and attention to detail. They seek to communicate every last detail to their team members and work closely with all members of the team to ensure that all of our guests’ needs are attended to. Servers are caring and approachable while showing grace and calm under pressure.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Servers are responsible for creating and guiding the guest’s experience. They greet guests upon arrival, explain the menu, ring in all food and beverage orders, and engage their guests throughout their meal, assist support with miseing. They set an atmosphere of ease, comfort, and fun. They will engage the guest in a discussion of what they will order by knowing all of the dishes, cocktails, spirits, wines by the glass, beers, coffees and teas we serve. They will be a leader in the dining room, mentoring support and assisting with any information they need.
Servers have a complete understanding of all of Sempre Oggi food menu items including: ingredients; origins, supplier, seasonality, flavor, allergy restrictions, preparation methods and alternatives, presentation (both physical and verbal).
Servers have a complete yet ever-expanding knowledge of our cocktails, wines by the glass, spirits, beer, coffee and tea. All Servers must have a disciplined approach to studying and be fluent in all levels of beverage information. This includes but is not limited to spirit knowledge, cocktail history and timeline, classic cocktails, the cocktail scene and recognizing industry professionals.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($11.35) plus tips

Sempre Oggi, directly translated as ‘Always Today’, is a modern Italian restaurant brought forth by Robert Guarino and Simon Oren of the Chef Driven group. Described by Robert as “ a recreation of your very chic friend's home in Milan” the restaurant design draws much inspiration from Gio Ponti, the great Italian architect & designer. The design is modernist while maintaining a respect for
history & tradition. Existing white columns in the space have been enveloped with mirrors and
their corners bound to the floor in grey cement. Lighting is suspended throughout the space,
floating within custom maple-tinted, light transmissive plastic. The bar showcases more
inspiration from Ponti’s later career. Mimicking hundreds of tiles motifs he collaborated on with
Ceramica D’Agostino throughout the world, custom hand laid colored tiles in an abundance of
colors flood the wall and emerge onto the ceiling. Illuminated shelving with rounded corners
and no backs are reminiscent of Ponti’s love for playing with light and colors to the eye.
Our Executive Chef Phillip Basone’s menu is a recreation of memories and fondness of Italian cuisine. With a firm belief that living life always for today requires leaving a better tomorrow, Basone reinterprets classic Italian dishes with a strong understanding of seasonality in New York and respect for local ingredients, while always keeping tradition and authenticity in mind. Best represented in the VERDURE DI OGGI section, vegetables play center stage and will be ever evolving, rotating and changing based on availability, and frankly, whatever is most delicious that day.
