Delmonico’s Hospitality Group is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join the culinary team at The Original Delmonico’s, America’s first fine dining restaurant, established in 1837.
Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District, Delmonico’s has defined American luxury dining for nearly two centuries. From the creation of Lobster Newberg to the legendary Delmonico Steak, our kitchen honors tradition while executing at the highest contemporary standard. We are building a team of professionals who take pride in craftsmanship, precision, and hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
- Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
- Team-orientated and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills a must
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time
