Skewr is a modern Mediterranean restaurant centered around wood-fired cooking, vibrant mezze, curated wines, and a specialty coffee + cocktail program. Located on 27th Street in NoMad, we are building a hospitality-forward dining experience that blends elevated cuisine with warmth, energy, and operational discipline.
We are looking for a hands-on General Manager who understands NYC dining culture and can lead from the floor while managing the business behind it.
The Opportunity

You will:
- Lead service nightly
- Own guest experience standards
- Drive revenue performance
- Control labor and cost targets
- Build and develop a strong FOH team
We are building a concept designed for strong check averages and sustainable profitability. The right candidate will understand both hospitality and numbers.
Responsibilities
Service Leadership
- Lead floor operations during service
- Oversee reservations and pacing (Resy/OpenTable)
- Handle VIP and high-touch guest interactions
- Maintain a 4.6+ Google review standard
Financial Accountability
- Manage labor cost to budget
- Understand prime cost fundamentals
- Review daily sales reports
- Drive beverage performance
- Support inventory and cost controls
Team Development
- Hire and train FOH team members
- Lead effective pre-shifts
- Enforce standards and accountability
- Maintain NYC labor compliance
Growth & Brand Support
- Support event programming
- Help drive weekday traffic
- Maintain strong neighborhood presence
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years NYC restaurant management experience
- Experience managing high-volume service
- Strong understanding of NYC labor laws
- P&L familiarity
- Wine & cocktail literacy
- Experience with reservation systems
Preferred
- Mediterranean cuisine knowledge
- Open kitchen environment experience
- Coffee program familiarity
Compensation
- Base Salary: $75,000–$90,000 (DOE)
