Empire Cake, a popular gourmet American-style bakery in Chelsea, is seeking qualified candidates for a Full-time Morning Barista / Counter Person. Compensation based on experience plus tips (Average $5 to $6 per hour)
The Morning Barista / Counter Person is responsible for opening the bakery and helping build our breakfast and coffee program.
The perfect candidate should have the following qualifications:
* A welcoming smile and personality
* Strong counter experience. This position involves mostly serving baked goods to customers and taking cake & other orders.
* Barista skills. We feature Stumptown coffee and a La Marzocco machine, and candidates should have experience with both manual espresso machines and manually-adjusted grinders. The morning barista will help train other counter staff.
* A patient and friendly attitude with customers, even demanding ones.
* Opening/closing experience.
* Good judgment and common sense, and an ability to remain calm under pressure, thrive in a busy environment, and multitask.
* A love of coffee and baked goods.
* Self initiative and a willingness to always help each other.
* A willingness to pitch in and do what needs to be done.
* An ability to work with a team, a big smile, and a good sense of humor
Salary Range - $17 - $18 per hour, compensation based on experience plus tips which average $5 to $6 per hour.

Compensation: Hourly ($17.50 - $18.50) plus tips
