Position Overview
Bel-Fries is seeking a high-energy, sales-driven General Manager to lead our Lower East Side location. This is a hands-on leadership role for a motivated operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, is excited by revenue growth, and can run a store independently while inspiring their team to perform at a high level every day. 50 hours per week.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to make money by driving sales, building strong teams, and executing excellent operations consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day restaurant operations
- Drive sales growth and consistently hit revenue goals
- Hire, train, motivate, and retain a high-performing hourly team
- Maintain exceptional guest experience, food quality, and cleanliness
- Manage labor, scheduling, inventory, and cost controls
- Oversee all third-party delivery platforms and maximize their revenue potential
- Prepare weekly schedules based on team availability, sales trends, and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with NYC health, safety, and labor regulations
- Uphold Bel-Fries brand standards, culture, and operational systems
- Handle customer feedback and operational challenges with confidence and professionalism
General Manager Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to:
- Be Sales-Driven:
Highly motivated to hit sales goals and grow revenue. Leads by example and inspires the team to perform—even when the GM is not present.
- Bring High Energy & Ambition:
Results-oriented, growth-minded, and committed to working approximately 50 hours per week in a hands-on leadership role.
- Manage Delivery & Technology:
Effectively oversee all delivery platforms (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) and actively drive revenue across each channel.
- Schedule & Plan Effectively:
Create efficient weekly schedules that balance labor costs, availability, and sales volume.
- Own Inventory & Ordering:
Manage inventory levels and weekly ordering to support operations while minimizing waste.
- Lead Teams Strongly:
Build, train, and retain a motivated, accountable team. Run effective meetings and maintain strong performance without constant owner oversight.
- Deliver Operational Excellence:
Maintain top-tier standards in food safety, cleanliness, organization, and execution.
- Perform Under Pressure:
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while staying focused, calm, and in control.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in fast casual or QSR
- Experience managing delivery platforms
- Strong understanding of NYC restaurant operations
- Passion for food, hospitality, and brand-driven concepts
Compensation & Incentives
- Base Salary: $52,000 annually
- Tips: Eligible for card and cash tips
- Performance-Based Bonus Program:
- Earn a $250 weekly bonus when the store achieves 20% or more sales growth compared to the same week in the previous year
- Designed to reward strong sales leadership, execution, and consistency
- Bonus structure may be adjusted monthly or quarterly based on sales volume, store performance, and business needs
