Job Summary
The Line Cook at Bōm is responsible for executing Michelin-level culinary preparation and cooking while simultaneously delivering polished, professional guest interaction at a chef’s tasting counter. This is a tipped, guest-facing position requiring a high standard of personal presentation, communication, and hospitality.
Line Cooks work in full view of guests throughout service and must be equally confident in culinary execution and professional demeanor. The ideal candidate has experience in high-end or Michelin-starred environments and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven kitchen where teamwork and discipline are paramount.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Culinary Execution
• Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to Bōm’s tasting-menu standards.
• Maintain strict recipe adherence and consistency across services.
• Execute advanced knife skills, station organization, and mise en place management.
• Maintain exemplary cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
• Assist with inventory, product rotation, and ingredient preparation.
Guest Interaction & Service Participation
• Interact confidently and professionally with guests seated at the tasting counter.
• Present dishes, explain components, and answer guest questions when required.
• Maintain a polished appearance, composed demeanor, and warm hospitality throughout service.
• Support an atmosphere that reflects Oiji Hospitality’s Michelin-level service ethos.
Teamwork & Leadership Mindset
• Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and culinary team.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, discipline, and strong work ethic.
• Adapt quickly to changes and maintain composure under pressure.
• Uphold all operational and grooming standards consistently.
Standards
• Display knowledge of the restaurant’s concept, cuisine, and guest experience philosophy.
• Maintain professional behavior and respectful communication with guests, managers, and teammates.
• Present a polished appearance within strict grooming and hygiene guidelines.
• Adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and safety protocols.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and staff development activities.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness within all work areas.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Michelin-starred or comparably high-end restaurant required.
• Strong culinary foundation, including advanced knife skills and station management.
• Comfortable speaking with guests in a professional, engaging manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow direction precisely.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.
• Full-time availability required.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation:
• Base hourly: $17.00–$25.00/hr
• Tips: estimated $300–$800 weekly
• Adjusted hourly earnings typically range $17–$40/hr depending on tip pool position
