Buddakan NYC is seeking a talented and creative Executive Pastry Chef to join our leadership team as we enter 20 years of service and an exciting new chapter alongside Chef Danny Bowien, the trailblazing force behind Mission Chinese.
Located in the heart of the Meatpacking District, Buddakan is a surreal, awe-inspiring dining destination where the serenity of Asia meets the flamboyance of 16th-century Paris. As we redefine the future of Chinese cuisine with bold, boundary-pushing ideas, pastry will play a key role in shaping the full guest experience — from concept to final bite.
This position offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including:- Base salary range: $90,000 – $100,000

- Develop and execute innovative dessert and pastry offerings that complement Buddakan’s evolving culinary vision
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team on menu development and seasonal concepts
- Prepare pastry items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen
- Hire, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing pastry team
- 3–6 years of progressive management experience in a reputable upscale or fine dining restaurant
- Strong understanding of all aspects of a top-tier pastry department operation
- Passion for creativity, flavor development, and thoughtful use of ingredients
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and collaborative leadership style
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
