Nura creates high-end events, parties, and gatherings designed as complete, immersive experiences. Our events bring together music, food, and above all, atmosphere. We aim to create something magical: a warm, familial, comfortable environment where guests feel both elevated and at ease.

Our food is high-end rustic—carefully thought out, deeply flavorful, and prepared with intention. Unlike restaurant service, our preparation style is rooted in catering, emphasizing prep-heavy, meticulous, and disciplined work, with plating and service kept intentionally simple and unpretentious.

The Position

We are currently looking to hire a Chef to lead day-to-day kitchen operations for events and prep days. This is a hands-on leadership role combining cooking, organization, and team management.

The chef is responsible for overseeing a kitchen team of approximately three to five cooks, assigning tasks, guiding execution, maintaining standards, and ensuring a calm, respectful kitchen environment.

Reporting & Direction: This role works beneath an Executive Chef. The Executive Chef sets the culinary direction, creates and develops menus, and defines standards and systems. The Chef is responsible for executing that vision on the ground—taking clear direction, receiving updates and refinements over time, and turning to the Executive Chef with questions, insights, or clarifications as needed. This role requires someone who can both lead confidently and take direction with openness and professionalism.

Hours & Workload

Events typically serve 40–65 guests. Each event involves approximately 12 hours of prep on the day prior to the event and approximately 10 hours on the day of the event.

The chef plays a central role in setting tone, rhythm, and standards in the kitchen while remaining aligned with the broader vision. We are looking for someone who leads with steadiness, clarity, and respect, and who understands that strong execution comes from both technical skill and thoughtful collaboration.

This role requires someone who communicates clearly; gives and receives feedback constructively; works comfortably within structured systems; values consistency, precision, and repetition; and takes responsibility for the performance and well-being of the team.
