The Shift Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations to ensure consistent execution of company standards in service, food quality, cleanliness and team performance. This role maintains operational flow by overseeing staff and creating a positive work environment that delivers on exceptional guest experience.
General Duties & Responsibilities
· Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations during shift.
· Ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are completed accurately.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment according to company standards and health department requirements
· Supervise employees during shift; provide direction, coaching, and accountability
· Manage cash handling, register accuracy, and daily deposits
· Maintain dining area cleanliness, restocking, and overall appearance
· Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols
· Communicate shift updates, issues, and needs to the General Manager and next shift leader.
· Assist with daily checklists, prep logs, temperature logs, and other required documentation
· Participate in shift meetings, weekly meetings, or training sessions as required
· Ensure every guest receives friendly, efficient, and accurate service
· Resolve guest issues or complaints with urgency and professionalism
· Support speed of service goals by actively assisting FOH or BOH as needed
General Skills & Requirements
· 2+ years in hospitality or retail leadership roles
· Strong communication and coaching ability
· Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ lbs
· Food-handler certification required or ability to obtain one within 1 month
· Organized, reliable, and proactive in solving problems
· Comfort working near heat, ovens, grills, and sharp objects.
· Ability to bend, reach, and move consistently throughout the shift
