About the Role
We are seeking a high-energy, hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our Dingaling Cocktail Lounge in Lower East Side. You will be the face of the venue, responsible for driving a high-performance culture, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the financial health of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening/closing procedures, service quality, and floor management during peak hours.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and mentor front-of-house teams (bartenders, servers, security, and barbacks); manage labor costs and scheduling.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the P&L, including labor, COGS, and waste initiatives; lead budgeting and forecasting to meet revenue targets.
- Guest Experience: Build relationships with regulars, handle guest feedback promptly, and ensure the venue atmosphere (lighting, music, temperature) is consistently on-brand.
- Conduct weekly meetings and present to groups.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with NYC health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations; maintain ServSafe or NYC Food Protection certifications.
- Inventory & Vendor Management: Oversee bi-monthly inventory audits and work with suppliers to achieve financial goals related to liquor costs.
- Marketing & Strategy: Partner with ownership to drive local marketing, social media presence, and special event programming.
- Site Maintenance: Do weekly sight walkthroughs to make note of any repairs, replacements, and improvements that need to be completed.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of management experience in high-volume New York City nightlife or hospitality venues.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in POS systems (e.g., Toast), inventory software, and financial reporting.
- Attributes: Strong conflict resolution skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and flexible availability for late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation
Compensation is at $80,000 yearly with quarterly bonuses for reaching sales targets for a maximum of $88,000.
