Prep Cook

The Russian Tea Room is an acclaimed fine dining establishment known for its exceptional culinary offerings and impeccable service. We take pride in sourcing the finest ingredients and delivering memorable dining experiences to our guests. We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Prep Cook to join our culinary team.

As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations by preparing high-quality ingredients that meet our exacting standards. You will work closely with chefs and line cooks to ensure smooth service and consistent excellence across all dishes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for daily service, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning vegetables, fruits, meats, and other components.

• Assist with preparation of stocks, sauces, dressings, and cold dishes according to standardized recipes.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces in full compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

• Label, date, and properly store all prepared items.

• Support line cooks and other kitchen stations as needed during service.

• Accommodate special dietary requests or modifications as directed by the Chef.

• Perform additional kitchen tasks as assigned by the Chef or Manager.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role within a high-volume or fine dining kitchen.

• Solid understanding of basic knife skills, food preparation techniques, and sanitation standards.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Team-oriented with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (Valid State ID or U.S. Passport, Green Card, and Social Security Card required).

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
