SERVER ASSISTANT (FULL-TIME)
5 shifts per week
FREVO is a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant concealed behind an art gallery in Greenwich Village. The experience centers around an intimate 16-seat counter overlooking an open kitchen, complemented by two tables.
We are currently seeking a professional, detail-oriented Server Assistant to join our team.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Server Assistant plays a critical role in supporting service execution at the highest level. This position requires precision, physical awareness, strong communication skills, and comfort performing guest-facing service tasks—including food presentation, beverage service, and handling of delicate service items—in a fast-paced fine-dining environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following duties are considered essential to the role:

Clear, reset, and maintain tables and counter seating with accuracy and timing

Maintain constant visual awareness of the dining room, open kitchen, and guest needs

Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout service

Perform duties requiring standing for extended periods, lifting trays, and navigating tight spaces safely

Assist sommeliers with beverage service during service

Study, learn, and retain detailed knowledge of Frevo’s tasting menu, including ingredients, techniques, and service sequence

Confidently describe dishes when presenting or dropping plates, following Frevo’s service standards and terminology

Handle, carry, and pour alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as directed during service
-
Polish, handle, and store delicate glassware and fine cutlery to Michelin-star standards, with speed, precision, and extreme care

Assist with pre-service setup of the dining room and service stations, and with post-service breakdown, cleaning, and organization of the restaurant

Additional duties may be assigned as required by service needs and business operations.
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2 years of experience in fine-dining restaurants (Michelin-level or comparable preferred)

Prior experience as a busser, runner, or server assistant

Ability and willingness to study and memorize menu descriptions and service language

Comfortable engaging with guests and explaining dishes clearly and accurately

Ability to safely pour beverages, including alcoholic beverages

Very comfortable polishing high-end, delicate glassware and cutlery efficiently and without breakage

Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and team-first mindset

Excellent grooming and personal presentation

Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a high-performance environment
- Reliable availability for scheduled evening shifts and punctual arrival for all assigned services

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

Full-time: 5 shifts per week

Typical shift: 3:00 PM – 11:45 PM

$17/hour (full hours paid) + tips

Current estimated average tips: approximately $260 per shift (tips vary based on business levels, guest count, and service performance)
