Lumo Ombro Hospitality is looking for an experienced FOH Manager. We are hoping to find a career oriented leader with strong interpersonal skills and grace who loves to work collaboratively to ensure the highest levels of service, guest experience and ambiance.
We are seeking an experienced floor manager with a strong work ethic to help maintain the highest standards of service and professionalism. Our ideal candidate is a professional who is also energetic, and passionate about all aspects of hospitality.
The FOH Manager will work closely with both the General Manager and all members of the restaurant’s management team to ensure the restaurant is operating according to the standards set by the executive management team and owners. They will be responsible for overseeing service, training FOH staff and will share in administrative responsibilities. Managers are an integral and active member of service. Managers are expected to be hands-on from the beginning to end of the guest experience ~ with guests, the service team, and with the back of house team.
Lumo Ombro is a seasonal restaurant that celebrates indigenous ingredients, local farmers, distillers, brewers, and artisans. We are looking for a person who can match the vibe. The bar program focuses on local spirits, house made tinctures, bitters and infusions, while the wine list is rooted in the new world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the GM in the main dining room & lounge
- Manage private dining events.
- Manage Dining Room service and FOH staff
- Assist with maintaining HR compliance
- Manage the entire door operation including Resy and Opentable
- Motivate & Supervise Host team
- Responsible for some light ordering / admin
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings covering menu updates, 86s, standards, and team alignment.
- Ensure the dining room, host stand, bar, and service stations reflect Cosme’s expectations of organization, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Support compliance with NYC DOH regulations, safety protocols, and company procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3+ years of fine dining management experience.
- Food Handler’s License (Required).
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Knowledge of New York Department of Health standards and protocols.
- Familiar with NY State and Federal Labor Standards/Laws.
- Computer Skills ( Spreadsheets, and POS Software).
- Analytical skills - the ability to compare, contrast and quality check work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with hospitality industry’s best practices.
- Demonstrate ownership of job responsibilities through focus, determination, and attention to detail with the goal of elevating the guest experience in every interaction.
- Sommelier experience is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs if necessary
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
