Overview
The Polisher plays an important support role between the kitchen and service teams, ensuring that all glassware, flatware, and plateware are impeccably clean, polished, and properly stored for service. This position contributes directly to the guest experience through consistency, care, and attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities
- Polish glassware, flatware, and service items to a high visual and hygiene standard.
- Inspect items carefully for water spots, fingerprints, or imperfections before storage or service.
- Organize and store polished items in designated shelving and storage areas.
- Handle all service items with care to prevent damage or breakage.
- Maintain a clean, organized polishing and storage area at all times.
- Support dish and service teams by ensuring a steady supply of polished items during service.
- Assist with resetting and organizing service stations as needed.
- Help maintain cleanliness in service support areas, including storage and back-of-house spaces.
- Support additional service or cleaning tasks as needed during service and breakdown.
- Follow all sanitation, hygiene, and workplace safety guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1-2 years Polish experience in fine dining restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of standard restaurant service procedures
- Knowledge of each job function on the floor and understanding of the priorities of service
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Must be available to work days, nights, and weekends
- Ability to speak multiple languages, including English and Spanish, is a bonus
Health & Safety
- CA Food Handler’s Certification
- Adhere to the highest standards of food safety, food handling, sanitation, workplace safety, and hygiene requirements according to the Los Angeles Department of Health standards to ensure the health and safety of team members and guests
