Director of Operations – Sushi Restaurant Group (Growth-Focused)

We are a growing, quality-driven sushi restaurant with a strong brand, a loyal following, and ambitions to scale. Currently operating one successful location, we are seeking an experienced Director of Hospitality to help professionalize, streamline, and expand the business thoughtfully and profitably.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who has lived restaurant operations—front to back—and is excited to build systems, develop people, and prepare a great restaurant for its next phase of growth.
The Role
The Director of Operations will oversee all day-to-day operational functions while working closely with ownership to design and execute a scalable growth strategy. You will be responsible for creating structure without sacrificing quality, culture, or hospitality.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all restaurant operations, including BOH, FOH, purchasing, inventory, labor, and compliance

Build and implement scalable systems, SOPs, and operational playbooks

Lead, mentor, and hold accountable management and key team members

Partner with ownership on growth planning, new locations, and operational readiness

Ensure consistent execution of food quality, service standards, and guest experience

Manage labor efficiency, scheduling, and performance management

Improve margins through thoughtful cost control without compromising quality

Establish training programs and leadership development pathways

Oversee vendor relationships, sourcing, and operational logistics

Act as a cultural leader, setting the tone for professionalism, accountability, and excellence
Ideal Candidate Profile

5+ years of progressive restaurant operations experience

Senior-level leadership experience (Director of Ops, Multi-Unit Manager, GM with expansion exposure, etc.)

Deep understanding of both BOH and FOH operations, ideally with multiple locations

Proven track record of building teams, systems, and scalable processes

Strong people manager with excellent communication and leadership skills

Comfortable operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and financially literate

Experience preparing a restaurant or group for expansion is a major plus
