  • Reports to: Operations Director
  • Overview of TRB: Tokyo Record Bar is a restaurant and cocktail bar founded by Ariel Arce, inspired by Japan’s vinyl jewel boxes and designed around two distinct experiences in two intimate dining rooms. The lower-level Vinyl Jukebox offers a seven-course izakaya-style omakase and immersive listening experience led by Executive Chef Ignacia Valdés, while the upstairs cocktail bar features Japanese-inspired bites and a couture beverage program created by Yana Volfson.
  • Position Summary: The General Manager is fully accountable for the day-to-day operations of Tokyo Record Bar, overseeing both front- and back-of-house teams. This role requires strong bar knowledge and hands-on leadership of the bar team, alongside overall restaurant oversight. The General Manager will drive exceptional guest experiences through consistent execution of brand standards, operational rigor, and financial discipline, while building a motivated, high-performing team culture. Success in this role requires thoughtful leadership, strong business acumen, and a deep commitment to hospitality. We are seeking someone with multi-unit GM experience.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Participate in five services weekly with one shorter service / admin day
    • Lead all daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless coordination across front and back of house
    • Recruit, lead, and develop floor and bar teams through active coaching and mentorship
    • Oversee bar team management, including training, scheduling, and performance, while maintaining strict standards for product quality, execution, and consistency
    • Uphold the highest service and hospitality standards across all guest touchpoints
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and required daily and weekly reporting
    • Assess staffing needs, build schedules, and plan for team growth and development
    • Interview, hire, and onboard new team members
    • Foster strong team morale, accountability, and productivity while maintaining fiscal responsibility
    • Monitor operational performance and control expenses across all departments
    • Support sales forecasting and track performance against revenue and profitability targets
    • Drive revenue through marketing initiatives, partnerships, networking, and team incentives
    • Manage budgeted revenues, cost of sales, labor, supplies, and operating cash flow
    • Review monthly P&L statements and proactively address variances
    • Event Management:
      • Manage in full the events program, supported by consulting Events Director
      • Respond to all leads within 24 business hours
      • Manage TripleSeat in full
      • Handle contracting with clients
      • Disseminate all pertinent event information to service and culinary teams via BEO’s / existing systems
      • Ensure all events are rang into POS accurately by on site teams via clear system architecture
      • Concierge and liaison any special requests for all Buy Outs and Large Parties to all necessary outlets.  

  • Requirements
    • Multi-unit GM experience
    • Minimum of five years of management experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or bar environments
    • Strong understanding of service standards, guest experience, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to consistently enforce expectations
    • Proven experience managing budgets, labor, inventory, and operating costs
    • Ability to plan staffing and schedules while balancing service excellence and financial performance
    • Highly organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
    • Exceptional attention to detail across service, operations, and team performance
    • Clear, confident communicator with a collaborative leadership style
    • Experience supporting marketing and sales initiatives is a plus
    • Music industry experience is a plus

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($120,000.00 - $140,000.00)
