Calling all college students, graduate students, and food enthusiasts interested in working at the intersection of restaurant hospitality, culinary research, and regenerative agriculture.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is hiring for our Summer Research Internship—a paid 8–10 week position.
About The Role:
Blue Hill at Stone Barns and our nonprofit farm partner, the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, are developing a food and farming institute with the mission to develop a regional and ecological future of food. Summer Interns will contribute to this mission by working with Blue Hill’s Special Projects team on research projects that may range from culinary and agricultural history, to processing techniques and data collection, to media and communications.
Interns will also participate in educational programming to develop interdisciplinary and firsthand food system knowledge. Through weekly readings, discussions, guest speakers, and occasional field trips, interns gain exposure to themes including pasture-based livestock management, regional grain economies, fermentation and more. All interns will report directly to the Special Projects Managers and Blue Hill will provide educational materials, hands-on activities, and family meals on all on-site working days. Interns will also have opportunities to participate in tastings, Blue Hill staff trainings and more. During the summer, interns will dine together at the Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Family Meal at Blue Hill in New York City and provide feedback on their dining experiences.
