Named for the lean, tender cheek meat that is considered the tastiest part of a fish and a delicacy in Asia, the critically-acclaimed and widely-beloved restaurant offers a menu of unabashedly intense, fresh and vivid dishes that span the diverse regions of Thailand.
Fish Cheeks is a deeply personal concept that celebrates the cultural heritage and the culinary artistry found in Bangkok and beyond. Brought together by team's shared desire to bring traditional Thai cuisine to NYC, the team decided to open Fish Cheeks, offering a menu that highlights the unfiltered flavors they craved from their upbringing in Thailand and re-creates the type of convivial and communal-style dining found across the country - from the street-stalls to fine-dining restaurants.
Fish Cheeks is now hiring an Assistant General Manager to join our team! We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual with a strong work ethic, hospitality foundation of at least 3 years and 2 years in management.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain a working knowledge of all menu items offered in the restaurant, including basic ingredients, allergens, techniques, etc
- Maintain an understanding of the proper steps of service and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service
- Supervise and coordinate team member responsibilities to ensure that the restaurant is running efficiently and profitably
- A strong guest service foundation able to anticipate guest needs and problem resolution
- Ability to coach, initiate solutions and develop a team
- Ensure constant, clear communication with staff members, management and the kitchen as necessary to guide service and administrative tasks
- Efficiently organize orders, manage cash and credit card transactions Demonstrate speed and accuracy when using the POS system during service
- Maintain the space and service stations according to DOH standards, retaining a professional, clean appearance during all parts of service
- Demonstrates leadership by setting the example for all team members, anticipating issues and initiating solutions
- Scheduling of assigned departments
- Opening and closing of the restaurant as it relates to the physical operations, as well as administrative tasks
- All administrative tasks as they relate to tips and end of night reports
- Manage all delivery platforms and ensure items are up to date
- Oversee deliveries and vendors
- Oversee employee punches and end of night shift reports
- Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service
- Reliably complete all assigned sidework
- Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards. Food Safety Certificate and Alcohol Safety Certificate preferred.
