Job Summary

Chicago Waffles is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Food Expeditor / Busser to support kitchen flow, food quality, and dining room operations. This role is essential to ensuring food is delivered accurately and efficiently while maintaining clean, organized tables and service areas. The ideal candidate is proactive, fast-paced, and team-oriented, with a strong focus on guest experience and operational support.

Key Responsibilities Food Expeditor Duties:

• Inspect each dish for accuracy, presentation, and adherence to recipe standards before leaving the kitchen

• Act as the final quality-control checkpoint between the kitchen and dining room

• Coordinate and prioritize food orders in collaboration with kitchen staff

• Monitor ticket timing to ensure prompt and smooth food delivery

• Communicate clearly with servers regarding order status, modifications, and readiness

• Assist with running food to tables when needed, ensuring correct delivery

Bussing & Dining Room Support:

• Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain dining room flow

• Assist with pre-bussing during service

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, expo area, and dining room

• Support servers and hosts during peak business hours to ensure smooth operations

Problem Resolution & Team Support:

• Identify and resolve order or service issues quickly and professionally

• Communicate challenges to management or kitchen leadership as needed

• Assist in other operational areas as assigned to support overall service flow

Qualifications Essential:

• Prior restaurant experience preferred (expeditor, busser, or similar support role)

• Basic to intermediate English communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude

• Punctual, dependable, and reliable attendance

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Desirable:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic Spanish communication skills

• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Stand and walk continuously during shifts

• Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

• Work efficiently in a busy, high-volume environment

Essential Job Functions:

• Follow all Chicago Waffles policies, procedures, and service standards

• Maintain knowledge of menus and restaurant operations

• Perform opening and closing side work as assigned

• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all assigned areas

Secondary Job Functions:

• Assist other team members as needed

• Participate in training sessions and team meetings

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $18.00
