In our kitchen, we craft breads (sourdough, baguettes, rye), classic pastries (Danish and French-style), and seasonal to-go offerings. Overview:
Support the day-to-day operations of LOUMA bakery as the Assistant Manager. This role is ideal for a hands-on, proactive individual who enjoys working closely with the team and contributing to a positive, smooth-running environment. You will assist the General Manager in maintaining operational excellence, team coordination, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Operational Support
- Assist in overseeing daily bakery operations to ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Support the implementation of operational procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
Team Coordination
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift planning, and daily team communication.
- Serve as a point of contact for staff to ensure tasks and responsibilities are completed effectively.
- Lead shifts and support team operations in the absence of the General Manager.
Quality & Hygiene
- Ensure product quality, consistency, and food safety standards are maintained across all departments.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with hygiene regulations.
Inventory & Ordering
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and placing supplier orders as needed.
- Ensure daily stock is properly stored, rotated, and readily available for service and production.
Customer Experience
- Support the front-of-house team in delivering warm, efficient, and professional customer service.
- Respond to customer feedback and help foster a welcoming bakery atmosphere.
Administrative Support
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and internal communications.
- Support the General Manager with operational initiatives, performance tracking, and day-to-day administration.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a bakery or food service environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to work.
