About Us: At Passerine, we are excited to bring a high-level Indian dining experience to NYC. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional food and service, inspired by the Michelin-starred vision of our talented Executive Chef, who earned accolades in 2025. Our goal is to create a memorable dining experience that reflects the rich flavors and traditions of Indian cuisine while aiming for a Michelin star in our new home.

Position Overview:
As the Captain, you will be responsible for setting the tone for exceptional guest experience from the moment they walk in. You will oversee the guest experience, lead the FOH team to ensure smooth service and seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, excellent knowledge in food and wines, working closely with the management team and a passion for delivering top-notch hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.
• Lead and work along the FOH team.
• Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a high level of organization and communication between front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
• Ensure all guests are satisfied with their dining experience and address any issues that arise.
• Oversee the cleanliness and ambiance of the dining area.
• Managing opening/closing duties in the absence of manager.
• Focus on upselling and positive feedback from guest.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Captain/Lead Server or in a similar front-of-house leadership role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Food & wines is a must.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of reservation systems ( Resy) and POS systems (Toast).
• A passion for exceptional guest service and creating memorable dining experiences.
• Availability to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
