Two Michelin Starred Modern Nordic restaurant, Aquavit is seeking a Sous Chef.
The Sous Chef will report to the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to maintain the highest quality, consistency and standard in the daily execution of all kitchen operations.
Job Description
- Supports and leads the Culinary Team in all execution and production of menus.
- Leads production and prep to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintains quality and consistency.
- Lead and train kitchen staff; supervise workflow and ensure timely production.
- Enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols in accordance with DOH standards.
- Manages inventory and communicate needs for ordering and prep.
- Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef on menu development, testing, and execution.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a high volume catering, hotel and or restaurant event spaces, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.
- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
- Ability to write recipes and food cost.
- Actively practices food safety procedures.
- Able to train and motivate team.
- Strong Organizational skills
- Effective time management

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($66,500.00 - $75,000.00)
