The Hotel Chelsea is now hiring a FULL TIME, SALARIED Maitre D and Manager. We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join our team. We are currently focused on candidates wtih full-time availability and at least four years of NYC Maitre D' experience.

About This Role
The Maitre D’ is responsible for providing warm hospitality to guests, managing reservations and walk-in diners, helping to facilitate the flow of service throughout the night, and maintaining a general command of the food and beverage menu. The Maitre D' is responsible to train and manage all team members who work the door, and also manage the floor during service, including opening and closing duties. The Maitre D’ will work to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greets guests and directs them to tables
- Trains all employees that will work the door
- Run Service on the floor, including opening and closing duties
- Lead a thorough and inspiring pre-shift service
- Takes walk in reservations, figuring out the best way to seat guests and maximize covers
- Sends walk ins to the bar or maintains a waitlist when necessary
- Constantly communicates table status with guests
- Coordinates large party reservations, private dining requests, or special circumstances with management
- Ensure all service staff memebers are performing at a high-level and confirming
- Works with the General Manager and management team to develop and execute strategies to achieve operational goals at the restaurant level
- Participates in weekly manager meetings
- Conducts pre-shift meetings
- Ensures the restaurant team delivers on SHG service standards; touches tables at every service to cultivate regulars
- Ensures consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with SHG values
- Proactively manages prime costs in conjunction with the GM, with an eye on the daily & weekly projections and budgets
- Helps to creates a talent pipeline of lead FOH and BOH team members
- Ensures that operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed by the entire restaurant team
What You Bring
- Minimum of 4+ years’ Maitre D’ experience in a high-volume restaurant
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- A strong working knowledge of various reservations software
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business permits
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 30lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($70,000.00 - $80,000.00)
